It is the undetectable flakes of animal skin, called dander, that sets off sneezing, watery eyes and stuffy noses in a number of folks. For those people who have food allergies, it means that particular types of food, such as peanuts or jalapeos, can set off an allergic reaction. Warning signs of various kinds of allergic reactions can be in the form of hives, puffiness of the throat and tongue, abdominal cramps, vomiting, diarrhea and low blood pressure.
