Acne is one of the most common types of skin complaints that a person can suffer from and it is not just restricted to young people, adults can suffer from it also. Although it is most common for a person to suffer from the condition on their face it can actually affect other parts of the body as well. In fact the chest, back, shoulders, legs and buttocks can sometimes have acne form on them. But today there are various different acne remedies a person can now use in order to treat the condition.

Today people no longer have to rely on medication prescribed by their doctor to treat acne instead they may choose to use some of the safer natural remedies that are now available. Below we take a look at just what kinds of remedies you yourself may want to try if you suffer from this particular skin condition.

1. Tea Tree Essential Oil - Of all the natural remedies available this is one of the most popular. All you need to do is dilute a small amount of the oil with a carrier fluid and then gently dab directly using a cotton wall ball on to the affected area. This remedy is particular effective as it contains good anti-bacterial properties, which help to kill of the bacterium that is causing the acne.

2. Zinc - Although popular it certainly is not as effective as the above mentioned and some of the medications that your doctor may prescribe. But it can still help to reduce the spots and so help to make a person’s skin look better. However, if you are going to use this remedy you need to be aware that if too much is used it can cause other health problems and some people find that their digestive system becomes upset.

3. Garlic - This particular remedy is not very pleasant to smell, but just like the tea tree oil it contains effective anti-bacterial properties that can help to kill of the acne bacteria. Normally a person will either apply crushed garlic or the juice of the garlic directly to the area that is affected or then leave it on the skin to do its work.

4. Lemons - These are another extremely effective remedy for treating acne because they contain high levels of Vitamin C that can boost your immune system. If your immune system is functioning properly it will be better able to fight and kill of the acne bacteria.

Yes you can drink lots of lemon juice to help boost your immune system but a great way to treat the acne itself is by applying it directly to the affected area. What you need to do is take some lemon juice and mix this with some rosewater and then apply to the acne using a cotton wool ball. Once applied you leave the area alone to allow the mixture to be absorbed by the skin. This particular remedy in order to be really effective needs to be applied to the area affected at least two or three times each day.

Along with the various different acne remedies we have mentioned above a quick search of the internet and you will find plenty more that you can try. Plus the great thing about using these over those prescribed by either your doctor or which can be purchased over the counter is the cost. Whilst another benefit to using such remedies is not only are the completely natural but are also safe as well and will leave your skin looking great and free from acne.
